Does Shazam! Fury Of The Gods Have An End Credits Scene? A Spoiler-Free Guide

Much focus has been poured into the renewed DC Universe under the leadership of DC Studios co-heads James Gunn and Peter Safran. That said, if there was a much earlier sign that perhaps things might turn around for DC, one could argue it was 2019's charmer "Shazam!" which went on to become a sizable critical and commercial hit. While the sequel was delayed several times, the release of "Shazam! Fury of the Gods" is nearly upon us. And for DC fans who are planning to check it out, we're here to answer a very important question: are you going to miss anything if you leave once the credits start rolling?

Post-credits scenes have become a staple of not just superhero movies, but blockbuster/potential franchise cinema in general. So, are there any credits scenes attached to the latest entry in the DCU? We're here to give you a spoiler-free guide to answer that very question. So fear not, we're not here to spoil any of the fun. We are only here to help you, perhaps, plan your bathroom breaks accordingly. Let's dig in.

Does Shazam! Fury Of The Gods Have A Post-Credits Scene?

Yes, director David F. Sandberg's "Shazam! Fury of the Gods" has not one but two scenes of concern during the end credits sequence. Simple as that folks. If you have any interest in the franchise beyond the movie at hand, you would do very well to stay through the entire credits. That's because there is both a mid-credits scene and an actual post-credits scene. That being the case, it would behoove fans not to run to the restroom or try to beat the traffic out of the parking lot after that first scene runs its course. Stick around and buckle up. But perhaps the bigger, better question is, how important are these scenes? Let's discuss that as well but, again, without any actual spoilers for what exists in those scenes.

How Important Are The Scenes?

Alright, as far as the importance goes, it's a little tricky. Neither of the scenes are quite as huge as say the Thanos reveal at the end of "The Avengers." Neither of these scenes are going to have that kind of impact on the DCU going forward. That having been said, they do have ramifications for the DCU and are certainly fun. They are definitely going to be of interest to hardcore DC fans and warrant the extra wait time. Particularly the mid-credits scene, which is the "bigger" of the two.

Though, in both cases, it's worth watching even if it's not some bombshell that will ripple through the rest of the DC Universe or anything like that. Don't sit around expecting to see a teaser for "Superman: Legacy" or to meet our new Batman or anything like that. So, there you have it! Now all that's left? Enjoy the movie, dear reader.

"Shazam! Fury of the Gods" hits theaters on March 17.
